How COVID-19 is a boon to Earth Health?

We are under lockdown due to COVID-19. People are not going out from almost 60 to 90 days. All these conditions raising questions related to Air Quality or Pollution. Did pollution really go down due to less mobility in different cities across countries? I was trying to find the answer to this question and came across mobility dataset, congestion dataset and air pollution dataset which has been made public by Google, Tomtom and Plumelabs.  In this article, I will present the analysis and link to these datasets. If you want to analyze this information for your city or country you can visit the referred sites in this article. Google mobility data is available at the following link  -  https://www.google.com/covid19/mobility/   The data from India looks like below.  Mobility has drastically reduced in the last 6o days and if you believe these mobility numbers, it will definitely foretell the future of the country or world economy. Re-boot your brain in five easy steps

Recently I was reading " No Self, No Problem " by Chris Niebauer. Chris is a professor at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. He specializes in neuropsychology and offer classes on mindfulness, consciousness, left and right brain differences.  His other books include " The Neurotic's Guide to Avoiding Enlightenment " and " Catching up with the Buddha ". In this article, I am happy to share my learning from " No Self, No Problem " around the ideas that shape us and how we can use our left and right brain to live in harmony with all beings. I hope these five points will help you reshape or reboot your brain. 1. The left brain is an interpreter and a story maker, and not all interpretations or story are always true The right side of our body is controlled by the left side of the brain and vice versa. In one of the most famous split-brain experiment, the researcher showed a patients left brain (right eye) an image of a c...

How to enjoy Urban world?

Last week I was reading Joyful from writer Ingrid Fetell Lee. I am happy to share some insights which I learn after reading Joyful . Before I begin I first want to introduce you to Fetell Lee. Ingrid Fetell Lee is a designer and the founder of the blog The Aesthetics of Joy. Although I am not a designer. I really loved the concepts and idea in her book.  You too can find Joy in everything -  be it nature, your office space, office building, tube station, park, museum, your own home, trees, urban setup etc. What she emphasized in her book Joyful is to observe the day to day things and find joy in it. You can enjoy the beauty of lined up trees of the same size on the sideway walk. Enjoy the trimmed grasses on your lawn or in the park Look at the shape of different tiles along the pavement See the grandeur design of open space in public places such as Train Station, Airport, Museums, Aquarium etc. When at home, notice how your home interior is structured - T...

Change in Rhetoric under #NarendraModi

I had written this article a day after #Balakot airstrike but unable to publish due to my laziness and business. Today I am happy to publish this article. Enjoy reading and if you like my articles, then please share in your network. The reaction of #Pulwama has been seen by the world when the Indian Air Force did Airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan. Yes, inside Pakistani territory and not inside #POK. This is a major policy change which we Indians are seeing under #NarendraModi and like me, many Indian are proud of our choice back in 2014. Everybody praises the Air Strike and the whole country was in a party mood. But where there is good momentum there exists a pullback. So as usual after a few days, our 21 party opposition started questioning the capability of the Air Force and Modi Government. They are asking for evidence of air strike and casualty on terrorists. This kind of politics mostly happens in India where Gandhi Party are mightier than the country. The problem with ...

Does Shree Narendra Modi lack the political will to solve the Kashmir crisis?

When I heard the news of suicide bombing on CRPF convoy on Valentine's day, I felt the rage inside me. Our 40 plus soldier were dead within a fraction of minute due to 350 KG IED suicide blast.  The rage is still live in me and  I thought to channelize my rage by penning down my anger via this article. To understand the current attack, we first have to visit the past incidents where IED is being used by Maoist and now in Kashmir. Maoist used IED as their main weapon against CRPF. IED is really killing our CRPF men. The government has even set up an Institute of IED Management (IIM) , Central Reserve Police Force, India which is doing research on preventing IED blasts on our forces. But still, we are far away from preventing such cowardice attack on security forces. I found some good suggestion from  Sukma Attack on CRPF Jawans using IED . Suggestions picked from above link make full sense: Directly countering the proliferation of IEDs Strategic research team de...
